SlashGISRS's RSS feed now works correctly with the whole story text included. We also added numerous RSS Feeds that you can add to your personalized SlashGISRS.org homepage. This is a good reason to create an account if you haven't already done so. RSS blocks are amongst the customizable "slashboxes" on the right side of the page. Feeds includes GISuser, AllPointsBlog, GISCafé, GeoBlogz, GEOPlace, GISuser, OgleEarth, QGIS, VerySpatial, geoTorrent and the OGC. Tell us about additionnal RSS Feeds you'd want.

After some requests, we just added the Google topic. We'll add new topics as needed.

We are still commited to provide the best ad-free non-commercial source of news and discussions in GIS and Remote Sensing. Cheers all and tell your collegues and friends about slashgisrs.org! (stats below)
For your information, after less than two weeks of existence, slashgisrs.org got about 3000 hits yesterday, but less than 200 user accounts and, as you can see, not a lot of user comments. But, hey, it's a great start, isn't it? :-) There are still improvements to come in the coming days, but it's fairly minor. 05/10/09 Updated the stats, I now know how to read them correctly!

Even slashdot took time to grow. It's been around a long time. And, even slashdot has advertising... not sure how you will keep ad free unless you have rich relatives. My advice - don't go pimping your site too much or it will turn people off.

I would not object having one or two Google text banners. If well implemented, they are not a nuisance and can generate a steady income to keep this site running, especially if you have 15 000 hits per day.
