In a few days I'll be away from computers and Internet until June, this means feeding this site with stories is in your hands. Other slashgeo moderators will attend to the site. If you took a look at our Hall of Fame, you know there's a race for slashgeo's proficient submitters, user geognerd and LKS are our top contributors and front runners... Amongst good news, starting in June, I believe I'll be able to feed the site even more regularly. Keep up posting and have fun!

Slashgeo's Update [+]
It's my pleasure to announce I'm back from 2 months vacations. Give me a few days to get back on my feet and slashgeo shall see a fresh and regular input of news and stories. Thanks to author dct and all readers whom submitted stories during the past few weeks. Keep sending them in! :-) Along with the regular news, we'll of course continue to improve slashgeo to the best of our abilities. Don't hesitate to share your comments: we're doing this for you, the users! As a start, I updated the OSGeo topic logo to reflect their newly choosen logo. Cheers!
Slashgeo's One Year Anniversary! 1 comment [+]
SlashGISRS, which was renamed Slashgeo, was launched one year ago! :-) There are so many geospatial news sources, I feel Slashgeo's offer of aggregated news is useful. As for its usefulness as a discussion platform, the future will tell us :-) My curiosity in regards to what's to come is whether Slashgeo will stay a tool useful to some, or become a tool useful to many. After over 1250 published stories and over 1000 comments from anonymous visitors and about 730 registered members, I plan to continue feeding the site regularly, even if there will be some slower weeks when I'm away from my office (such as last week and last April-May). Anyone willing to contribute is more than welcomed! Our values include communication, openness and transparency. I have learned *a lot* in the process and I believe it's true also for the other founding members. We will continue to improve the site and many interesting features which will augment the information architecture of Slashgeo are in the works and should be released in the coming months. Hope you enjoy the tool! :-)

Heh...I just set a personal record for submitting comments on Slashgeo today. You're lucky it wasn't articles!

As for Satri, maybe he had a motive behind the most recent poll [slashgeo.org]. Did you come across unlimited time and budget for April-June? OK, maybe that's not unlimited time. Are you going to be gluing RFID tags to mosquitos? Will you be getting high in the evening sniffing pots of glue? (The person who can identify the song that last line comes from wins...nothing.)

        LOL!! I wish :-D
Nothing geospatial a few weeks for a change. My status changed at work and decided it was the best timing to continue my exploration of our planet. I'll be away on vacation with my wife for a few weeks and when I get back I'll explore other parts of my reality [dhamma.org] out of curiosity. Getting back to our fast-paced world and slashgeo in June.

Can I get my nothing? ;-) Divine search engines offer answers [eltonography.com] to many [wikipedia.org] questions [wikipedia.org].

        Have fun geognerd!
